Drake and Rihanna Getting Affectionate at Montreal Nightclub!

It’s been up and down with Drake and Rih Rih. Are they together? Are they just friends? Drake has made it clear that he’s always wanted to be more than just friends with Rihanna but it seems she’s just not that interested in commitment.

In an interview with the New York Times Drake discussed their short lived relationship saying, “I was a pawn…You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear. I was like, wow, this feels terrible.”

Chris Brown ‘Hits’ 2011 BET Awards HARD

Chris Brown did what he does best and attacked last night’s BET awards. Brown beat out his competition (pun most definitely intended) taking home 5 awards.  Trying his best to receive deliverance from his evils at last year’s festivities, Chris Brown preformed a not so convincing tribute to the late great Michael Jackson; complete with crocodile tears. However, this year seemed to be Brown’s saving grace. He is now being dubbed the ‘Comeback Kid’ and for good reasons. Brown proved he was deserving of his awards by preforming a powerful medley of “She Ain’t You,” “Look at Me Now” and “Paper Scissor Rock” off his latest album.
Of course when Chris Brown is involved drama is not far behind. During the presentation of the Viewers’ Choice Award contest winner Tiffany Greene announced Chris Brown as the recipient. Moments later she apologized and said, “I’m sorry, Rihanna for ‘What’s My Name’”. Since, Rihanna didn’t attend the show Drake accepted the award on both of their behalf. Drake accepted the award by saying, “Well, this is awkward.”
Uh…Yeah it is, ironically the embarrassment didn’t end there. It turned out that Chris Brown actually was the winner of the award, which wasn’t revealed until the end of the show as the audience left the building. Seems like quite the coincidence, but considering the people over at BET are no stranger to stirring things up, maybe not. What do you think? Could the error have been premeditated? Give us your opinion in the comment box.

Drake Feeling Used By Rihanna

The Drake and Rihanna love rumours have kicked into full gear again!

After Drake made appearances at Rihanna's shows in Toronto and Montreal during their song "What's My Name?", it's no surprise that the romance rumours about the two have started to swirl again. Their brief love affair was all over the tabloids. Not shocking since they would without a doubt be the hottest couple in show biz since Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Apparently the relationship meant a lot more to Drake than it did to Ri Ri. He wrote a song called "Fireworks" that he never released and it is reportedly about Rihanna. Here are some of the lyrics.

I could tell it wasn’t love, I just thought you’d fuck with me
Who could’ve predicted Lucky Strike would have you stuck with me, damn
I kept my wits about me luckily, what happened between us that night, it always seems to trouble me
Now all of a sudden these gossip rags wanna cover me
and you makin’ it seem like it happened that way because of me
But I was curious, and I’ll never forget it baby, what an experience
You could’ve been the one, but it wasn’t that serious.

Apparently Drake feels used, and his upset that Rihanna seemed so into him and then disappeared. I think it's probably a taste of his own medicine. Nothing teaches guys about how they make women feel than being on the receiving end for a change. That being said, I'm all for this power couple. They'd be the hottest thing Hollywood's seen in years!

Rumour or Truth: Drake Got the Unprofessional Boot from Young Money?!?

Well we don't know for sure but I will say this. YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY TREAT A FELLOW TORONTONIAN BAD AND GET SUPPORT IN THE FUTURE?!! You must be crazy to blouse and skirt (Jamaican voice) LOL. If this one is true although some are saying it is and some are saying it's not, I will be pissed. Apparently, Drizzy had a big argument with Baby and Lil Wayne over finances and past royalties that Drizzy feels he is entitled to. I feel that if Drizzy is leaving Young Money in this manner, it will get nasty so be prepared for diss records. lol That should be good! Ahaha. Think about it. Drizzy comes from an educated lyrical standpoint and Wayne comes from a gritty hood standpoint. The battle would be complete madness! Not that I'm trying to encourage a feud (clears throat) but I'm just saying it was be amazing. lol I'm sure we will know very soon whether it's true or not but I do feel that it's time for Drake to move on to bigger and better things. Enough of the hood deals. He needs someone like LA Reid or Jimmy Ivine to take him to the next level--BIGGER AND BETTER!!!

Chrisette Michele 3rd LP - Let Freedom Reign

Chrisette Michele is hands down one of the best voices in R&B. The Grammy award winner has been a breath of fresh air for the R&B world since her signing to Def Jam. Her airy flow has been asked to bless tracks from the likes of Jay-Z’s Lost Ones and Nas’ Can't Forget About You and most recently Rick Rossand Drake for the hit Aston Martin Music.

Michele’s third disc LP, Let Freedom Reign, is a balanced effort that shines harder than anything else that you will hear that falls under the R&B flag. Chrisette uses Let Freedom Reign to explore a wide range of topics from love and love lost, to war and poverty making this a well rounded album.

The title track Let Freedom Reign, featuring Talib Kweli andBlack Thought, finds Chrisette flexing her emcee skills to voice her opinion on social ills going on in the world. The trio goes over the Chuck Harmony-produced track for a social commentary cipher that would make Chuck D proud. Black Thought shines the hardest on the track with lines like, “In this world of coonery and tom foolery/ I’m trying to stay true to my community/ The daily news ain’t the only thing schooling me/ With these haters running around like they got immunity.”

Chrisette shows that she’s no slouch on the mic spitting lines like, “Can/ By coincidence/ We love the elected/ Until they are detected/ As being human…most of us don’t know what to say/ Right or wrong/ Free or slave.”

So In Love finds her back riding shot gun with Dade County’s finest Rick Ross. Over slow rolling piano keys, Chrisette sings about allowing herself to love someone; “Without my permission/ My hearts on a missions/ It’s got a mind of its own.” Ross delivers his usual combination of money, cars and clothes but he finds himself falling to the background asChrisette’s voice takes the spotlight.

One of the stronger tracks on the disc is I’m A Star. Once again, Chrisette takes you on an emotional trip through her ups and downs to where she is today. You can hear the emotion in her voice as she sings to her own emancipation; “Tell em baby I’m a star tonight/ I’m up in the sky tonight/ For the world to see/ I ain’t thinking bout you/ Baby I’m gonna do me tonight.” More on the Pop side of things, I’m A Star could be a song you hear on the radio sooner than later.

With So Cool, Chrisette sings a love letter to an absent lover letting him know that she’s good. Over Ne-Yo’s production work, she belts out, “So after everything you put me through/ Just want to let you know that I’ve moved on/ And baby I’m so cool, so cool.”

Let Freedom Reign will stand out amongst the other CDs you’ll find in the R&B section. While others may focus on what would work on the radio or what would sound good in a club, she makes music to make a statement. Let Freedom Reignresembles an R&B album that Kanye West would make if he could really hold a note; consistent, diverse and just good music.
