The First Lady Takes on Desmond Tutu in Push-Up Contest

Earlier this week Michelle Obama was scheduled to visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela had been imprisoned. Unfortunately due to weather conditions the first lady was unable to make the trip. Instead Obama decided to pay a visit to the iconic Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Obama and Tutu had a discussion with South African youth about protecting themselves from HIV/AIDS and how to use exercise as a way to keep healthy. What better way to prove your point than by having a push up contest? Obviously there is no better way. The crowd of young people were heard cheering Michelle Obama on by chanting her husband’s famous election slogan, “Yes you can!”
